ChatGPT fools you, beware of AI pitfalls!

ChatGPT will be more widely used by the public in the future. This is because never before has it been so easy to get a highly accurate response.

However, I feel that ChatGPT will not work well unless the user has the same or better knowledge than AI.

What I mean is that ChatGPT never returns the right answer.

ChatGPT only returns words that seem to follow the previous word. For example, “Once upon a time…” is followed by “Once upon a time…”. ChatGPT has online information (up to the year 2021), and it analyzes this information and returns words and sentences that are likely to be connected to the next word or sentence in the question. ChatGPT has online information (until 2021), but it only analyzes this information and returns words or sentences that are highly likely to lead to the next word or sentence.

So, although it is often said on the Internet that “ChatGPT lies,” this is not true; as far as ChatGPT analyzes the information it has on the Internet, it only returns the words that are most likely to lead to the next answer, not the words that are correct or not. If there are a lot of wrong words on the Internet, ChatGPT will just return them as they are.

To successfully use ChatGPT with these characteristics, the person operating it needs to have sufficient knowledge.

This happened to me once when I was using ChatGPT.

When I asked for the procedure to configure a certain setting in Salesforce, it returned the way to write Apex. If you have some experience, you don’t need to write Apex, and you can accomplish the setting in less than 5 minutes. Since the answer was completely different from what I had expected, I thought it couldn’t be, and asked, “Isn’t it possible through configuration?” I asked, “Yes, it is. That’s right.” and the answer I had originally intended was finally returned.

In this way, ChatGPT only returns a likely answer. It does not return a simpler method, taking our intention into account.

If you are knowledgeable about Salesforce settings, you will notice that ChatGPT’s answers are wrong, but for those who are not knowledgeable, ChatGPT’s answers are all that matters. So, it is tempting to assume that the answer is correct, and there is no doubt that more and more people will think so. Then, they will start looking for solutions in that direction, which should be more efficient, but they will be forced to go a long way.

This is the reason why we say, “You need to know as much or more than AI to use ChatGPT well. AI is “only there to support humans.

We should strongly recognize that AI “is only for supporting humans, not for relying on humans.

We should know the characteristics of ChatGPT and consider how to use it in our work and personal lives, and how to change our behavior, otherwise we may fall into an unexpected trap.

I personally found the following article and video explaining the characteristics and usage of ChatGPT to be very helpful.

I hope you will take a look at them.
